...A great place to live!

Welcome to the Shenandoah Homeowners Association web site, representing a small mountain enclave of fine homes and properties located minutes from and eight hundred feet above Durango; a center for year-round sports and outdoor activities in beautiful Southwest Colorado.

Shenandoah is a community of some 50 residences and properties ranging in size from 2 to 35 acres. It's 3 miles of curving paved roads pass through open meadows, horse pastures, and stands of ponderosa, pines, oak and aspen trees. It's home to a myriad of birds, deer, small critters and an occasional bear.

Dolly, a wandering lama, has adopted Shenandoah and can often be spottedwandering through our meadows or sometimes, down the middle of the road.

Our full time and part year residents are primarily adults, although we have just had a one year old join us with her parents.

Residents represent all walks of life, including engineers, health care professionals, retirees, law enforcement, business, and construction professionals.

We enjoy the skiing, biking, fishing, hunting, camping, kayaking, hiking, boating, and equine sports that La Plata County offers and are looking forward to the new Lake Nighthorse, located just five miles from our entrance, for all of the recreational opportunities it will offer.
